アメリカの大学生と直接対話
5月29日、アメリカ・ピッツバーグ大学の学生10名と引率教員1名、甲南大学関係者の皆さまが来校されました。
今回の訪問は、日本の学校教育や学校生活への理解を深めることを目的として実施されたものです。参加した学生の中には、将来JETプログラムなどを通じて日本で英語教員として働くことを希望している学生もおり、日本の中等教育の現場に高い関心を持って本校を訪れました。
当日は、高校1年A組および高校3年A組の授業に参加し、本校生徒とともに学びの時間を過ごしました。授業内では、学校生活や文化の違い、将来の目標などについて生徒たちが積極的に英語で意見を発信し、互いにコミュニケーションを取りながら交流する姿が見られました。アメリカの大学生と直接対話する機会は、本校生徒にとっても大変貴重な経験となり、国際的な視野を広げる学びの場となりました。
ピッツバーグ大学の学生の皆さんにとって、本校での時間が日本への理解をさらに深める機会となったことを大変うれしく思います。今後も本校では、国内外の教育機関との交流を通して、生徒たちが多様な価値観に触れ、世界へ視野を広げる機会を大切にしてまいります。
University of Pittsburgh Students Visit Konan
On May 29, a group of 10 students and one faculty member from the University of Pittsburgh, accompanied by representatives from Konan University, visited Konan Junior & Senior High School.
The visit was organized to provide the students with a deeper understanding of Japanese education and school life. Among the participants were students interested in pursuing careers as English teachers in Japan through programs such as the JET Programme, and they were eager to learn more about the Japanese secondary education system.
During their visit, the University of Pittsburgh students joined classes in Senior High School Grade 10A and Grade 12A, spending time learning alongside Konan students. In class, students exchanged ideas about school life, cultural differences, and their future goals. Konan students actively expressed their thoughts in English and engaged in meaningful conversations with their American counterparts.
The opportunity to interact directly with university students from the United States provided a valuable learning experience for Konan students as well, helping them broaden their international perspectives and develop their communication skills in a global context.
We are delighted that the visit offered the University of Pittsburgh students a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of Japan. Konan Junior & Senior High School remains committed to providing opportunities for students to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives through exchanges with educational institutions both in Japan and abroad.
