日本と甲南を体験する国際交流プログラム
イギリスにある Westonbirt School から留学生をお迎えしています。
本校は今年度より Westonbirt School と協定を結び、新たに交換留学をスタートしました。
留学生たちは約10日間、甲南高校に通学し、柔道・書道・日本語の授業に参加したり、英語の授業ではティーチング・アシスタント（TA）として活動したり、時には甲南生とともに同じ授業を受講したりしています。
本日、芦屋神社様 のご協力のもと、神道について深く学ぶ機会をいただきました。
神道の装束を着用させていただき、神道の歴史やお参りの作法について教えていただいた後、境内をご案内いただきました。
留学生たちは、日本の神社建築の美しさやその伝統技術に感嘆している様子でした。
また、絵馬に願い事を書き、心を込めてお参りをしていました。
この10日間で、さまざまな日本文化に触れ、多くの人々と交流することで、日本や甲南高校への理解と愛着を深めてくれたことと思います。
イギリスに帰国後も、日本ファン、そして甲南ファンとして、本校の魅力を広めてくれることを期待しています。
We are pleased to welcome exchange students from Westonbirt School in the United Kingdom.
This academic year, Konan High School established a partnership with Westonbirt School and launched a new exchange program.
During their ten-day visit, the students attend classes at Konan, participating in judo, calligraphy, and Japanese language lessons, assisting as teaching assistants in English classes, and occasionally joining regular lessons alongside Konan students.
Today, with the kind cooperation of Ashiya Shrine, the students had the valuable opportunity to learn about Shintoism.
They dressed in traditional Shinto attire, learned about the history and rituals of Shinto, and toured the shrine grounds.
The students were deeply impressed by the beauty and craftsmanship of Japanese shrine architecture.
They also wrote their wishes on ema (votive wooden plaques) and offered their prayers with sincerity.
Through these ten days of learning and cultural exchange, the students have gained a deeper understanding of Japanese traditions and school life at Konan.
We hope they will return to the UK as true friends of Japan — and of Konan High School — sharing their experiences and memories with others.
